Not a good day.

Firstly I dig out the MOT certificate that was supposed to have been done in august when I bought the car "we will tax it and test it for you".

Well turns out they just plain didn't unfortunately I don't have it in writting that they promised to but anyway no biggy, I got it MOTed today no biggy passed no problems.

On the way home I wound down the passenger side window, and when I went to wind it back up I get this nasty crunching sound and the window didn't move.

Well I get home and me and my old man take off the door panel to discover the cable all over the place etc.

Well after struggling for about an hour and a half we realised it was covered with the Ford Protect used car warrany I have :(

Gonna put it back together a bit and get it sorted out by warranty.

Ford says it all!
Would never trust anything with them. Sorry to hear bout your problems buddy. Hopefully it'll get sorted though!

Well that was a ball ache, phoned ford protect;

"call your local seat place and see if they will deal with us"

Phoned Seat

"no we don't have an account with them"

Phoned ford protect

"well you can take it to where you bought it"
"no I can't it's 100 miles away and I have no passenger side window"
"you could pay for it and recharge us"
"don't like that idea"
"or you could ask them to call us and we can get them to setup an account"

Seemed a bit stupid for me to call them to get them to call ford protect, rather than ford protect ringing Seat.

Either way Seat have been very helpful so far and the car is booked in for 8am thursday morning (probably could have booked it in sooner but need to put the door back together).

Well surprise surprise it isn't that simple.

Got a call couple hours after my dad dropped my car off (I am ill unfortunately), and they are now telling me that they don't have an account.

They seem to have no answer as to why I was told it had been setup and according to them they don't have any dealings with ford protect. I checked with Ford Protect and they haven't even called to set one up (the woman in the services department confirmed they had the number, so basically they wrote it down and did **** all with it).

So now I am going to have to pay for it, even though it's under warranty, and claim the cost back from Ford Protect.

Demand to speak to a supervisor and get them to sort it. Its their problem and not yours. Do not take no for answer. If the supervisor can't help go above them. Evetually you get to someone that it shouldn't have and they just get it done and sorted cos it shouldn't have got that high. Done it numerous times with different companies and always got a result

I did, the last person I spoke with was the service manager, he made more sense but was still unwilling to setup an account. When I pick the car up I will be having words, end of the day they took a telephone number from me to arrange payment and didn't do anything with it.

They basically have my car under false pretences as I probably would have took it elsewhere if they hadn't been willing to setup an account.

They gave me some bull about no managers being in today, but I bet my car isn't finished by the end of today and they have to get payment out of me yet.

They can go and **** themselves if they think I will be having any servicing etc. done with them.

Just looked at your location and their is only one dealer that can be that devious or just plain lazy! ****world!!!

Bit of a bolting the stable door job after the horse has well and truely legged it and been turned in to dog food, but........

Always put everything in writing and ask to recieve everything in writing, that way you've got them stiched up nice and tight so when it all goes wrong you have 100% comeback. I've delt with them for over 9yrs and have had problems but nothing has ever finished up on my back and they are a lot more professional this way as they get used to you as a more consientious customer - a right pain in the ahem when you've gone but who cares.

Sorry haven't updated this.

It got even worse, day after I received the car back, £195 lighter (all will be refunded), I took a mate to footy training, get there and....

HE CAN'T GET OUT THE ****ING CAR!!!!

Turns out the morons hadn't reconnected the interior handle.

And it got better than that, I took it back and waited for them to fix it, telling them "the door you fixed, you haven't reconnected the interior door handle"

Hour later this woman comes out, "right Mr Owen sir we have fixed your far side rear door handle".

Which would have been great if that was the handle that wasn't working....

Needless to say I won't be going back there.
