oh yeah, and 8-9 litres of petrol/oily **** came out the sump :( now just need to fix this frigging 5k rpm problem!!! timing hasnt been touched and it used to rev past 5k before the flat battery/immo/crank sensor problems. i've changed....

dizzy cap
plugs
leads
crankshaft sensor
coil
fuel pump relay

any ideas? gonna plug it in tommorow and see what it says anyway
 
as in, on top of the shaft lol? just pulled old rotor arm off and put new 1 on. only thing thats not connected(and never has been) is a black wire with a red connector on it...... any ideas?
 
im leaving mine in limp mode just cos it sounds so good when it hits limit :D
 
internal control module memory error.

a few times today its felt quite nippy but then just feels **** again, its as if the air flow meter is playing up but no codes come up other than that above. tried disconnecting the plug on the side of the distributor(just on the spot mind) and it was exactly the same... 5k limit :(
 
when people disconnect their airflow meters does your car still run? mine just dies???
 
fannied about with distributor for ages made no difference, got a mk3 gti ecu, plugged it in, immo on.... vagcom'd it for the immo and fired straight up, down the street and straight past 5k... thank god for that. rea faults and its saying 02 sensor not connected lol so hoping its not connected and that the golf ecu will be ok
