hooch i think as many people have said you need min 630cc injectors.bill can you not help hooch out with mapping?

I can and we have spoken.
Its down to Hooch to decide.. He's into quattronics for a shed load of ££ so whatever its going to be more £ to change direction.

3bar map was'nt available several weeks ago, but may well be now. I will check on this monday.

I have a real head start on having my ibiza map as a known working start point. :)
bigger injectors essential however.

bill i have the injectors i bought from you from someones golf hooch maybe interested in them cant remember the make though know they are 620's can you remind us cheers

620's yes. originally supplied to me by jabba when I ran PE1820. they need to be on 4bar to support hooches power levels. I changed to 750cc when I went 007 as I max'd out the 620's, then needed to run the 750's on 4bar when I went FP Red. Now got 870cc injectors which I will run on 4bar for the latest setup.

Silverstone 24hour out of the question then hey bill! Shell not interested in being a sponsor of the badgerwagen with V-power or even BP with their 102?

im waiting for the v-band. BUT im going to cancel the order and just get them to fix the mani as it is and refit. run it for a while to make sure it dont crack and then advertise it for sale. if it dont sell im breaking it for parts :( cant be dealing with it no more

Shame to hear to that. And i know how you feel, did the same thing with my S2. But thats never broken since i sold it over a year ago! Typical.

Dont give up on it is all i can say. Yeah, its hassle, but when you drive it again you will remember why you went through it all :)

ref the flow thing Hooch.
remember these flowbench numbers? note the stock smallport mani's flow on cylinders.

and now superimpose your high airflows into that scenario.
:hide:

clarification sought as it was bugging me..
the mani's in the test were lhs t'bodies (same as ibiza's/TT's)

The cylinders were numbered cloest to tbody as #1, furthest #4 so they are not cylinder numbers at all.. quite the reverse.

you are in the same predicament as me mate, tis the joys of modifying I guess

if you have read my build thread recently, you will see the sheer amount of issues I am currently going through

dont sell it mate, be a shame to see it sold after all that work

hardly... he's done most of the graft himself

personally, I can appreciate hooch's work - he's a tinkerer rather than a driver if that makes sense... happier with a car in bits working out how to put it back together (my wife would argue that I'm similar in that aspect)

of course, I must be less worthy of going through modifying grief or issues with my car due to the fact i am less technically competent than hooch:rolleyes:

It's a bit different when you can't take the whole thing back somewhere, throw the keys at them and say 'fix it' - i think that's the point. Hooch isn't technically competent, i'm sure he'd be the first to admit he's learned this by just getting stuck in and having a go. I only wish i had the balls and the space to do this sort of thing myself.

well FMIC, yes I can fit (I would at least call that partly competent), but as we all know (look at Robdons thread) these manifolds are an absolute ball ache to fit and a pain and I dont have the modified spanners....and even if I did I would still be now encountering major issues and would need help so yes it sometimes has to be the case of throwing them the keys to fix it

unfortunately due to son, family and my job I simply dont have the time either!

anyway, it would be a shame to see it go after all this work...although I am sure it would go to another good home:)

problem is, as this thread shows is going it alone, and fair play for having a go, is huge risk and hassle compared to goign to those who have done it before, and learned thehard way themselves..

to do all this, get unlucky with supplier choice and components, trying to do "his own thing" has resulted in poor old Hooch suggesting he will break the car now as its been too much hassle. that has to be gut wrenching and a lesson for others.

I feel hooches pain, but I'm afraid some of it is self inflicted. learnt a lot along the way mind you I bet, and what/who not to use again.

I hope it has'nt put him off.
