H&R Cup Kit for my Cupra

Looking to upgrade the handling on my Cupra, didn't fancy going down the coilover route as my budget wont stretch far enough for anything decent, so im thinking of the H&R Cup Kit 50mm shock - Would this lower the car 50mm?

It's a 40mm drop. 50mm refers to the diameter of the strut. You'll need the other ones they list as the struts on the Cupra are 55mm.

A few Leons on here with H&R springs but not many (if any!) with the Cup Kit. Hopefully someone will chime in if they have it or tried it.

Cheers bud, after looking iv whittled it down to either AP coilovers for adjustment and slightly better than standard handling or the H&R kits for superior handling.

Ive had a h&r cup kit fitted as of two days ago and it's nearly identical to the standard setup as far as ride quality (I've got a facelift FR with the improved dampening). Handling is better and drop is 30mm (already 10mm) lower from factory. Very pleased with it.

The only spec cup kit H&R make for the Leon is the 'comfort' cup kit (as opposed to the 'sport' cup kit it makes for other cars), which means the ride is more OEM and less hard than other kits.

Don't get me wrong, it's firmer but not really stiff. Therefore the handling is certainly better, but being comfort orientated thats never going to be as sharp as some of the more handling focussed kits.

Also, it's the only shock/spring kit that drops 40mm (although it's only circa 30mm on our cars due to being factory lowered). Others don't drop as much and only coilovers will go lower.

I drive my car daily so wanted better looks, some better handling but to keep the ride quality, and the H&R cup kit has without question ticked all three boxes.

I didnt realise they made 2 kits, shame only the "comfort" is available for our cars. The drop does look pretty much perfect.

Where did you get your tinted side indicators mate?

Why not get the kit and also upgrade the ARB too, that will enhance the handling even further.

Indicators are actually mk6 fiesta ones...

Really good quality, no fogging up. Just need to widen the hole inside slightly with a craft knife to allow bulb holder to screw in.

very true mate, im now thinking either the cup kit or a set of AP coilovers for the adjustment, then the ARB's will come later on.

If your happy with a set height then the H&R Cup kit is a great option but for that adjustability I'd personally go for coilovers.

i am looking at the same H&R kit for the same car (only my is dsg and 17" wheels), but also looking at bilstein b12 sportline set - do you have any info if b12 is harder then cup kit??? (i have exact same wish: better looks, some better handling but to keep the ride quality..)

and if i did understand you corectly, cup kit lowers our fr for 3 cm, and makes it equal level?

because i am reading sportline b12 set is linear, and not progressive like cup kit...
