Just a quicky, I am ordering from HIDS4U, when it asks me what type I want, do I just select the option that says "H7 Projector" as the only other option is H7R for reflector?

Neither! You don't have projector lenses.

I ordered the H7R from Hid's for U, and then ended up buying the H7 (non R) bulbs from ebay!

You're probably best buying from somewhere on ebay... They ones I got were great, can't remember the name but was the same ones adamcupra20vt got if that helps....

i got the h7's from hids4u as the leon already has the reflector in them to stop the dazzling. I have been through 1 MOT and it passed fine with the HIDs in. If you search the forum there is a code for hids4u.co.uk that will get you 25% off, I will have a look now!

I am so confused. On HIDS4U it gives me two options, H7 Projector or H7R Reflector, there is no option for normal H7 at all. I am looking at the 35w Pro Plus kit by the way and if I order the H7R kit, I can only have it in 8K...no thanks. So what I really want to know is, will the kit that says Projector next to it, fit in the reflector lense? Is it just called a projector kit because the bulbs don't have the anti-dazzle paint on them but otherwise all the connections and fittings are the same?

the reflector ones H7R have a little metal bit above the bulb which stops the beam of light going up over. As the leon already have this the projector ones are best I do believe.

I might be wrong but thats how i read it before i ordered mine a while ago!

Thanks for the code Keany!

Ok cool, so before I part with my £££, the projector ones will fit my OEM lamp units?

No worries oldman. The difference is that the 'R' bulbs have an anti glare coating on them on one side which emmits less light onto the road, therefore you can't see much further ahead than uprated normal H7 bulbs.

i bought the h7 projector ones and fit perfect, had no probs either with them, know alot of these ebay ones that have gone faulty which is why i paid the bit extra to get them from UK. had mine in a year now and had no problems at all with them, look cool too, i got the 8k ones and havent had any problems with coppers either, followed loads and had loads coming towards me

Great, thanks again! I will order the projector ones. I am after 5k as I want a crisp white light with little blue, 6k was a tad too blue for me so 5k should be perfect.

Secondly, how big are the normal ballasts...huge? Worth going slim?

I got the big ballast though because thats all they did 55w in

yeah, wish i bought skinny when did mine.
no money now so will leave.

I think that if you get the skinny may need to look at lee69 thread about interference, but seems may only apply if they are digital -> anybody know a way of telling if digital or not?

I also have 55w 6000k HID kit and even though they are super bright they dont dazzle anyone (i think) never been flashed, a lot of Road coverage, Cheap £38 Kit from Ebay aswell:p

Wow, that's a massive difference and now I can see why people have problems trying to hide them. Slim it is!

On a side note, HIDS4U say that the projector ones will fit reflector units.

Yea they will i have projector bulbs in my car, i got the thick ballasts but theres a lot more room under the bonnet of a 1.6

Well after i blinded some poor girl the other day who was sat on a path i kind of felt sorry for her  but i used to get a lot of people flash me and all i did was flash them back :p
mines a cheap £40 kit as well, used to have them in my Astra and they were better than standard but when i stuck them in the leon the difference was phenominal

I started with 6000k bulbs but they looked too blue for my liking. changed them for 4300k and they look like OEM xenons.

I've been through three M.O.T's and each time i took it to a different test station and its sailed through the test each time.

Couldn't go back to ordinary halogens now.
