Are you paying finance on the car? Have you contacted the finance company and explained the situation to them? I would at least try to get a freeze on the payments untill the car is returned to you. At the end of the day they have a substantial investment in the car too, if you refuse to pay for it they will take ownership. Would they be happy with a car they can not sell because its knackered?

So if VAG have made 200k of these boxes theres a lot of people like you then! That sounds liek a stastic that watchdog would love to run with.

spoke to a solicitor earlier on and they have told me to take action now! so im going down seat dealer tomoz, with all the finance doumentation, and my legal rights, i am going to get a like for like car or cancel my agreement and get another boc, but im not just lieing down and taking all the **** that seat are giving me, just fobbing me offf with stupid things and telling me different stories everyday, i will let everybody know how i get on tomorrow, hopefully seat will realise they have messed up and sort me out, i havent just paid all that money for a duff car, so they either sort it or ive decided im going twat the sales man who sold me the car lol!!!

If this does go legal - they could claim that they didnt want to deal with an abusive customer.
That would kill your claim in its tracks because they will take the "protection of staff" get out clause.

be nice very calm I did this whti my dealer and it really used to piss them off, I would be all matey and friendly and then drop the bomb on them. The Managers face was a picture when I went up to him with a full ounce of bounce and charm then did the smiley hand shake routine and then presented the solicitors letters we had drawn up. He properly shat himself! Especially when he found out the MD of the dealer group had one sent to him recorded delivery and the same to SEAT UK Seat/VW finance and the Director of Seat UK, having access to companies house via the wife did help in tracking down the major members of staff for the companies but it did work for us in the end.

It's the right thing to do mate. Better the knowledge that everything is fine than the worry that something else will go wrong. It just sucks that you will sit without a car for a while again.

The 14 day cooling off period might relate only to the finance agreement, in which case you can cancel the finance agreement but the contract that exists between you and the dealer to purchase the car will still exist and in theory the dealer may be able to sue you for the purchase price of the car. Might be worth checking the paperwork to see what the 14 day period relates to before using this as a reason for rejecting the car.
The best way to reject the car will be under the sales of goods act and the fact that this particular Ibiza was not fit for its intended purpose. The issue here is the car not the finance and each is subject to it's own contract. Rejecting the finance will simply mean that you will have to find another way of paying for the car before the dealer will release your car or provide a replacement.
Personally I don't think Seat or the dealer will take the wish to reject the car seriously until they receive a letter from you or your solicitor detailing why you want to reject it.

Hi mate, i had this trouble last year after my engine blew after 4 days on my Boc and they wanted to replace the engine and I rejected the car as not fit for purpose as the cost of repair was disproportionate to the value of the car....you have 30 days to do this in writing. they orderd me another car and replaced the engine in the old one and sold it as a demo. hope you get a result dont take any crap you have rights.
sorted! spoke to the manager of the dealer today and he has said how sorry he is and they are getting me another boc! for next friday what a result! i didnt even need argue just played the bloke who'd been ripped off , and they just said everything i wanted hear my car is not fit for purpose so they getting me a brand new boc ... wow didnt expect any of this thought it would be a long winded process! lol looking forward to next week and going GTI internationals SORTED! lol
