I ave to disagree, my father has a remapped FR (same map) as well (he's slowly building my car but a facelift ;) ) and the Milltek helps the spool up quite a bit and improves drive-ability.

I'm a great believer in changing the exhaust manifold to improve things, but less so with the rest of the system.

£ for £ I wouldn't say the exhaust system produces enough of a benefit to make it worthwhile - unless the one being taken off the car needs replacing, in which case if you intend keeping the car in which case get something like the Milltek.

Anything with less back pressure will quicken up spool times.

I'm led to believe its the backbox on the TDI's that are most restrictive, so spend £100 getting it chopped out and hey presto :)

Easy way to save £250!!

Devon are you not able to get to 4500 rpm? Or did your power scare Awesome off?
Can be made to rev to nearly 6000rpm if i want.

Mike, is that even remotely drivable under 2.5k rpm!?
Yes thanks as the power comes on nice and smooth plus 4WD

 Just as ChrisGTL says above. The only real performance difference between a Milltek, stock or any exhaust 99% of the time is just the back box as the exhaust has to still travel down the same path. I think i am right in remembering that the Milltek i had fitted on my PD Ibiza Cupra and my Audi was only about 1mm max extra internal diameter which will make sod all difference really.

On a 40mm ID straight pipe that would be just over an extra 5% flow area, but there's a hell of a lot more to gas flow through an exhaust than the cross sectional area of the pipe, I should know I spent a year studying it and that was still just an introduction to fluid flows.

well i have had my first real chance to play with the car since i had the full system fitted and i am glad i got it fitted. feels so so so much quicker at accelorating and i love the noises the car makes with the turbo now :) people keep looking at you when your going through town. i had a section of road i use for benchmarking my cars speed its a dualcarraige way and half way down is a bridge, i like to see how fast i can go when i get to bridge, well with new exhaust i beat my old speed by 20mph!! its only shortish bit of road. really impressed. If i could go back to before i got system fitted guess what I would buy it again !!! very pleased with it.
