A common subject on the R forums. There are some shocking pictures of the dirt that accumulates in the strainer of the mk7. It eventually blocks and causes the pump to fail. Had mine done last year and it wasn’t too bad - had the filter and pump cleaned, new oil and the rear diff oil changed. Forget using dealerships as there is no set policy by VW on the Haldex service - some change the oil but don’t clean the strainer or pump - pointless! Use a good independent and you’ll not go wrong.

I did my Haldex on a Freelander 2 last year. 100k miles on the clock. Land Rover says to change the oil and filter at 150k miles, but Volvo, which use the same version says 40k miles!

The filter was starting to get clogged up, got it just in time i reckon.
