I thought they were 'self-adjusting'.

When I replaced the rear pads on mine, the lever was rather 'sloppy'. All it took was several repeated applications of the handbrake (just pull it up and down several times) and it 'reset' itself back to a normal position.

Thanks i will try it this morning the handbrake works ok but it is to high i will let you know what happens

No no no no... Do it properly otherwise it will never be right! Trust me I've done loads of these!

They self adjust, so unless the cable stretches which it won't you never have to touch the cable adjustment.

Wind the calliper back and start again, it's a pain but you need to start from square one!

Now pump the brakes 10 to 15 times,

Now pull the hand brake on and off all the way 10 to 15 times,

Now put your foot hard on the brake and pull the hand brake on... As the handbrake comes all the way on your foot should move down. Repeat this 5 times.

Job done. If you have a long pedal or the handbrake is more than 3 clicks for on and 4 to 5 for on silly tight something is wrong!

Hi thanks for the info i will redo them over the weekend and let you know how i get on as when i put them in i just pumped the brake peddal a few times i did not do anything with the handbrake
thanks phil
