hey all,

my tdi 130 seems to be really really sloppy with its handling,

if im doing any sort of speed, ie 60pmh+, and i turn the wheel left to right a few times like making it snake/wiggle. it feels like the back end isnt even connected.

i have coilovers, i have rear spacers, i have a whiteline rarb (which did nothing!!)

what can i do?

i hear people talk about cupra bushes but can work out how these will help or how much i will be looking at labour to fit them,

and i have just read about someone putting on cupra wishbones or something...

any help as always is much appreciated

I think the wishbones will already have cupra bushes in?
I had cupra lower bushes and superpro upper bushes put in, that really tightened it up. Was about 2 hours labour though. The other upside is that doing hte bushes will stop your tyres wearing as badly.

cool, do you know exactly what it was that you bought?

and has it effected the ride quality at all?

thanks

It was Cupra Lower wishbone bushes and SuperPro upper wishbone mounts. It does make the ride firmer, but that's the price of stiffening suspension unfortunately.
I've got Powerflex rear beam bushes in and a Superpro torque mount bush, so you can feel virtually everything in my car lol

The ARB did nothing? Really? Stiffest setting? Might be a coilover issue!

On the topic of a rear ARB: I think the Jabba ARB for the Skoda Fabia is a little thicker than the Whiteline one so this will stiffen it up a bit more. Want to be careful of making it too stiff though!

Check my readers ride for the Cupra bushes VW/Audi/Seat part number... They are only about £20 from the dealers.
I put them in my little 1.2 and it's like a totally different car to drive all of a sudden!

yep all tracked and aligned with all good tyres and no uneven tyre wear.

i have the bar on the middle setting at the moment but may change it to hard later on to see if that helps at all.

Has your car been in a serious accident and then had the front half welded onto another Ibiza?
:D

Because it sounds like something is very seriously wrong with your car.
My alterations were that I added:
Front/Rear Struts
Rear ARB (Whiteline)
20MM rear spacers. I did them all at exactly the same time and the difference in handling is incredible, It feels like I'm on rails -

4 Mins 30 onwards!

Maybe its your coilovers.

the only real mods I have that you don't are front and rear struts and I think the rear does NOTHING and I'm pretty sure the front does very little also.

You have coilovers so I'd expect the handling to be better providing their not too bouncy and your not too low/high.
Its possible its the bushes aswell....

My car has them as standard.

I have the same feeling on mine mate I'm told it's the rear beam bushes so I'll let you know any difference when I changed them next month :)

I have exactly the same mods as you also :)

yeh that would be cool mate if you could :)

my car has never been in a serious accident or even a non serious one.

the coilovers are weitecs and the rears are right down with adjusters in and fronts not too low

its really annoying me. i might have to get it looked at as it does feel really dangerous at speed,

maybe i will put the old wheels/tyres on, something else to rule out
