Just a thought, is it possible to shorten the standard springs or are they taper-ended or reduced diameter on both ends of the spring? If not poss, I'll spring for a set of Eibach Sportlines.............
Regardless of spring design it is very dangerous to cut springs. It's an MOT failure and will also void your insurance if the loss assessor sees them after they have broken and caused your car to end up on it's roof.
Don't do it, buy proper ones and declare them to your insurance.
