My A/C hasnt bee working for a while now. The A/C displays but constantly flashes and doesnt cool the car down :(

Ive also noticed the external temp sensor is screwed. Was showing like 4 degrees in the boiling heat of combe at the weekend and during winter was readling like -20 on some days lol!

So do we think my a/c just needs re-gassing or could this somehow have something to do with the temp sensor ? I remember reading something on hear that made me think it could be that ?

Cheers people!

Yes!

New one from the dealer is just over £20 - you need to cut and solder in the new one.

Does ** AC not stay on constant? Mine did tis and the above fixed it - took me about 20 mins to sort :)

cool cheers mate will be worth a try then..

No it still tries to come on (sometimes randomly) but then just flashes until i switch it off.. Admittedly sometimes it tries to stay on all by itself but still just flashes and the air doesnt get any cooler! :(

As said if the temp reading is too low then the a/c will not be allowed to turn on, ive just replaced my sensor this weekend, like said above, £20+ v.a.t from dealers and bout 20-30mins to fit, i had to strip my mirror down and remove the glass to get into it.

yeah get your external temp sensor replaced then clear the code form it (is there is one) and your air con will be fine
