i have just bought a Mk 1 seat leon cupra and the key fob just died on me. i changed the battery but could not get it to sync with my car! took it to seat garage and they say i need a new key fob, the price they gave me was £40 for new fob and another £30 to program it. is this about right? just dont want to waste money if i dont need to!
if anyone has had to buy one could you see if that sounds right. cheers:shrug:

yeah it dose with new battery in but it never before, do you think i should just keep trying to sync it myself?

If it doesn't work, many a button/remote sections go on ebay for as little as £12 to £20.
Get one, swap over the key section and sync it yourself using the guide in the owners manual.

I got quoted around £70ish pound for a 'normal' plip key for my LCR and around £140-£150 for the flip key style

if u get 1 from ebay there are two different frequency they operate at so u need to find out which u need mate

I got quoted the same as you, £40 fo the key and £30 for the fitting.

the flip open key was £105 (without fitting) but they couldnt gurantee it would work or retain its memory or something.

I just went for the normal key in the end.

i got told £180 for the flip key i blagged off seat when i got my car cause it didnt come with a spare key.

said i would send them the bill when i break in the car if i lost my key

Help

Yeah just try it mate.

Sup please help I jus bought mk1 leon an when I got it, it had a new ignition barrel and 2 keys 1 for door and 1 to start it an Audi key! But no key fob for remote locking jus wondering would this affect the chances of me having a key fob cut and coded with it being a new ignition barrel

Yeah man still car is good, handling is alot better than 206 I just stuffed.

i got my self a fob off ebay for about £15 delivered just make sure you check the mhz on your key some are 434 and some 433 it will tell you where you pull the remote bit you pull out of the key in tiny writing. Easy to programme tho took about 15 seconds to do so long as you have your spare key

How did you match it to your immobiliser?
