Hi just looking for some advice on how to work out whats happend to my head unit.dosent seem to be any power coming to it atall? :S any help would be great :D

How long has it been in the car? Is it newly fitted or been in there a long time?

Cables could have bn bent behind the HU seings as the space is small which could have created a break over time. Check your fuses to ensure that the stereo one isn't blown, if it is you may need to try and find out why!

its just brand new, had ecu problems with the car then after i pickd it up fromthe garage its no longer working? what fuses do u need to check and how do i do it? lol i know nothing about car electrics

Hmm, I would take it back to the garage bud. Don't fiddle with it, it's likely if ECU problems have been looked at then the battery would have been disconnected though this shouldn't cause any problems really.
Get them to check why it's not working since they have had it!

I aint sure where the fuses are as I aint had to change a fuse for many years now but they are usually located behind a panel under the steering column and all the fuses are shown on the panel. To check them you just pull the one related to the stereo out and look through the top or side of the plastic cover and it's obvious to see if it's blown, the connection will no longer be a connection lol and they sometimes darken the plastic cover. It's simple but as suggested above, take it back and tell them it's not been working since you picked it up. A mate had an alarm fitted and ended up with an electrical fire, they tried saying the wiring loom was at fault and they hadn't touched it, but obviously to fit an alarm you have to wire it into the loom, so don't let them try to fob you off. if it was working but not since they had it, they are responsible for replacement.
