Get a VW RNS -510 Nav unit for 300 - 350 off ebay

does this unit need coding or anything? what fascia did you get for it?

Facia was from the dealer. Gave them my chassis/VIN number & they supplied the right colour facia plate, as shown on the pic. Was about £15 - £18 from memory.

Once fitted, I got it coded in by vagcom so that it all integrated with the highline MFD/steering wheel controls.

All the info comes up on the MFD - turn by turn guidance for the navigation & if not navigating, then road name & direction of travel (north/east/south/west).....track ID is shown when CD or Ipod connected or radio station shown when listening to radio.
The head unit also integrates with the climate control unit, so when you turn the climate control on/off, turn heat up/down or change blower setting it comes up on the head unit screen too.

Hi everyone, still looking for a decent double din gps stereo. Been researching loads but still haven't found what I'm looking for. Ive been put off Chinese ones based upon mixed reviews etc. Want a named brand unit around £300-£350 that fits an 07 Leon. Love the RNS510 but that's expensive for a second hand unit.

Any other suggestions?

When I saw the email alerting me to his I thought I was in Groundhog Day, I think every option other than very expensive Kenwood/Alpine units has been suggested.

Personally no as I only think a factory standard look is worth it if that happens to look well-designed and I think they look as if they weren't actually designed by anyone with an ounce of design flair.

Haha valied point. Think I was swayed more towards that for the simple fact I know it works well. The less hassle for me the better. Want something that works well, connects to dashboard display etc.
