head unit wiring

my head unit does not save any of its settings (e.g. radio stations display settings) when the car is turned off and the same thing happens in my mk2 golf gti does anyone know how to fix it?

usually swap the red & yellow around

is this on the cars part of the iso connector or the head unit?

or the radio is crap like mine lol, had a great blaupunkt unit and it broke and i replaced it with a cheap sony one and it never remembers cd position or radio stations

car's wiring
from memory, normally red marked up as perm live, yellow switched? seems on some VAG cars its the other way round?
think i just cut & re-connected wires on lead from H/U

yeah swap, red and yellow, then it will have a constant live

yep what they been saying ... i had a brand new pioneer head unit and i had the same problem .. then got told to swap the two wires and now saves every time.

i like that idea p*sses me off when you want to have your tunes blastin from the rear of the car and it wont save
