Head unit

I’ve just bought a 63 reg FR

The radio doesn’t have DAB and is quite basic.

I’m been looking at head units on eBay from the newer models.

Would it be as simple as unplugging this old one and plugging the new one in?

The only difference with this head unit is the CD player is part of the radio and not in the glove box. I wondered if that would make a difference in wiring.

If it can’t just swapped any advice on what to replace the head unit with would be welcome

Any help would be appreciated

Best speak to yorkshire retrofits on the forum. Sure they can help, but it will be expensive (possibly 500+) and require coding and maybe wiring adaptations. Trouble with putting in aftermarket is you loose functionality of car settings
