Hi All,

I've a problem to which I need your help with.
I've a Seat Ibiza Style Plus from 2017 (literally the first batch) and I've been having issues with my DRLs. Every year (give or take), my DRLs go out, it's not the bulb but something in the headlight itself. According to the mechanic, it seems to be due to heat (sun?) and causes some plastic to melt.
It happened again with less than a year in between and now, I was wondering, does anyone know if I can swap from this headlight:

Notice the DRL is a LED triangle instead of the typical halogen bulb

Would this a simple swap or do I have to program anything with OBD11? I've actually bought a cheap one from the used market and tried it but the DRL wouldn't turn on.

Many thanks !

if your only issue is with DRL being hot, maybe you can change for an quality led to prevent that. I dont think whole headlight would melt just because of sun.

Believe it's a combination of both. In Portugal, it's illegal to swap from halogen lights to LED. By just changing the bulbs would mean that it would fail inspection or get fined by police.
I managed to make it work, found out that my old headlight was using pin 4 for minimums + DRL and new one uses the pin 10. Swapped under OBD11 and it worked fine.
