headlight stripdown

Okay, before I start, is it easy/possible to dismantle the headlight unit on a Mk1 Leon? (ie remove the lens at the front)

I'm sure I read somewhere that to remove the headlights it's a bumper off jobby.

Why do you need to dismantel them? (out of interest)

Think its a sealed unit, therefore probably need to cut through sealant to get lense off
This is why VAG will not answer any water in lense claims
So I don't think it is dismantelable (is this a word?? It is now,lol)

made these out of my old vectra headlights (similar story - have to heat up and melt through the sealant to get the lenses off) and they look so good I wanted to try it with the Leon lights...

the LED sidelight strip is almost as bright as the headlight!!

ah kinda like the new audi ones? quite a cool idea.

why don't you see if you can pick some headlights up from the scrappy and then swap them over if you manage to make them ok. you can allways sell the non modified ones afterwards, or if it goes well modify them aswell I'm sure someone will buy them off you

Been scouring the local scrappies for weeks now. No one has Leons. Bugger!
