This question is probably best suited to an auto-electrician or similar, as I have tried to get a clear answer for a while and not had much luck

I have a 2009 (pre-facelift) FR with the bluetooth pack, which has the steering wheel controls for answering calls etc. and has the interface in the MFD for making calls etc.

My question is, is it possible to swap from the standard headunit and keep the bluetooth pack working in the same way? (I also have a subwoofer wired in to my current headunit but that shouldn't be a problem)

The headunit I currently have looks like this:

Would something like this work, keeping all functionality:

Hopefully someone on here has had some experience or knows something about this

Thanks

Dave

Hi,

The Bluetooth module is separate. In LHD cars it's located under the driver's seat. :)

Wait for someone more knowledgeable about this, but I think you wouldn't have any problems switching.

Be careful with those RCD510 from China, some do not support MDI and CD changer or have DAB.

You shouldnt have any problems, as said above the bluetooth module is seperate.

The RCD is also a good replacement, although I dont know whether battery drain would be a problem with it being installed on the Pre-fl. I believe some people had this problem when upgrading to RNS 510's etc.

Thanks for the replies, when you say the bluetooth module is separate, does that mean that it should connect into the likes of the RCD510 in a similar way to how it connects into the standard HU? As far as I know the battery drain shouldn't be an issue on mine as its after 08
