Heat resistant paint on intake?

Re the title, would heat resistant paint on the air intake of my car make much of a differnece to the temps? Be a little cheap mod, would just get black paint as the forge intake is only CF look on the outside.

Also, slightly raised bonnet would help get air out the back of the engine bay when on the move. Anyone done this or how easy would it be? Somecars it was as simple as putting washers inbetween but is the hinge on the Cupra/Ibiza different to this? I cant recall.

I always thought heat resistant paint was silver/white? Black absorbs heat, so may make it worse

Well, I wasnt being colour specific, just figured if it was available in that colour i would do it in that colour.

Anyone got any thoughts on this?

Silver would be better as you want to reflect the engine heat away from the intake. So you really need heat reflective paint

Don't bother with raising the rear of your bonnet, unless you want to 'scene' your new car and not actually care about cooling on the move - the undertrays of your car were designed to help the airflow through the radiator and intercooler as much as possible.

True but he's trying to keep heat from the engine out of the intake, so silver would help with this

Look at silicn pipes. Some are purpose built to resist heat absorbtion. Look pretty too. To wrap existing pipes look at exhaust wraps etc. Heat resistant paint will work better than nothing. Im going silicone. Ill show you in a week or so after fitment. Same setup as you though. Samco hoses are great. Going for purple ones
