the light in my heater console has stopped working, probably has a weak

connection. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to open the

console to see what the problem is? cause it seems pretty impossible![:@]

I can't remember straight away, but if you pop onto clublupo there are threads there that will tell you - I think there might even be one saved in the How To forum :)

You need to unclip the fascia where the dials are and then remove the small screws that hold the dials in. Just be careful when taking the fascia plate off as the clips can snap and make it difficuly to get back in. Might just be a dead bulb instead of a loose wire.

think its the wiring cause it keeps goin on and off. Was that for the mk 2 arosa or mk1? cause i know that the console is connected differently for them both,

Thats for the MK1 but, I cant imagine its much different for the MK2 as its the same on the VW fox.

This happened to me ages ago and if i remember correctly i posted on here and someone put some steps of how to do it? (was approx 1-2 years ago).

Basically you remove the stereo and then place your had down the back of the controls where in the centre is a white clip which houses the bulb.

The bulb was about £1.20 from halfords. Trickky to get to it, but if you remove the stereo im sure you will see.

(was a MK.1 btw)

:)

Just had a look for the old post, was late 2006 but it doesnt seem to be there???

Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

the whole console on the newer arosa was different. Theres an overhang so it make it really

hard to see what your doing. I can remove these 2 parts, but it still doesnt give much space

to work with. so im still puzzled

Ahh right the Mk2,

Well all i can suggest is to have a play with it? Not to sure about that one, sorry.

The bulb has probably gone. You need a bulb (probably a W5 wedge bulb, 1.2W 12V)

Remove the front panel of the heater controls, and one of the control knobs, behind which is the bulb. Pull out the bulb (a piece of rubber tubing you can push over the bulb helps here). Replace and refit panel :)

still havnt sorted mine out yet. Mk 2 consoles are set out differently that the bulb is alot harder to get to. Still havnt been able to change mine:cry: Seat dealerships couldnt tell me how to change it either
