Hi everyone,

I used to have a Re mapped Red LC and had it to sell to settle cash problems and think it was the biggest mistake i ever made  ...... saying that, the gods have smiled on me and through saving, luck, etc i have saved around 10K in order to get myself an LCR

My question is do i get a cheaper higher milage one in a colour im not totally sure on and have more left for Mod's or do i get a lower milage one in Black or silver and wait for mods?

Im stuck!

Cheers

I would get the better car to start with, then deal with the modifications when you have the money. You'll only regret it later when you wished you had gone for a different colour.

I think you could be right. i would be happy as long as i had enough for a remap .... gotta get one!!!

im thinking black (even though its a pain to keep clean!) but in your opinion would you go for the 210 or 225? i dont think theres much in it .... trim seems to be the only thing. Am i right in thinking power after remap is the same whatever??

they both have the smae potential, same turbo and nearly all of the same internals so no reason why power shouldn't be the same if the tuner is good!

but defo get the right colour, and dont be worried about the miles!

Definately worth paying the extra and getting low miles and colour mate.
Warranty from garage or if buying private, an RAC examination for £130-160 is well worth doing to make sure you are buying a good motor. (see my other thread, detailing my RAC report, entitled '700 mile trek...')
Good luck!!
Mods can always wait. The LCR looks stunning in standard form anyhow!

Colour is personal and, high miles is nothin on these cars!
High mileage examples and full service can be had for a great price! i'd prefer that any day over a low mileage car thats never had a good run or time to get up to heat and very little service history!

I agree, its down to personal opinion, and as you say, low mileage cars that have not been run properly, with scarce service history can be more of a problem than higher mileages.
Colour is personal choice, but still best to get the one your after!! And not second best. Some people arent so bothered by colour, my mate wears pink shirts. But its all down to the individual. ;)

I was hoping you would say that :p

cool so if i found a 210 LCR for around 9k (ish) id have a grand to spend on mods.... remap for £500 goes without saying but what do you reckon i could do with the last £500 (maybe slightly more)

Im looking to get my future beast as rapid as poss :funk:

(cheers for the quick replies BTW)

Well, from my experience of remaps (some other people may have different opinions, I can definately recommend APR.
The extra boost comes all over the rev range unlike REVO which iv been told only boosts for a short time, although you get more power.
My mate had the demo software, and he said when it boosted, felt like it would blow up.
Anyway, Im not here to start an argument with REVO guys, im sure its slightly more fun than my remap cos its faster.
My mate ended up with the APR remap, like me and I can see what he means. It is class. Progressive power over rev-range, Dogbone mount should be your other mod, than maybe the ARBs to improve handling (they are about £500 me thinks.) or blueflame exhaust.
So that should bring your bill up to the £1000k mark!!

I gotta agree with you chris on the progressive map... my old LC was mapped that way and i loved it..... Im getting ahead of myself though cause i gotta buy the car first! .

Is there anything i should look out for when buying a second hand LCR?
