Hi everyone,
This is my first post; Looking forward to getting to know you all and hopefully sharing knowledge.

I've had my Exeo since brand new in May and I have to say I love my little fake Audi :p
I do however wish I could find the info about unlocking the RNS-e unit on an exeo. I have heard it is not possible to unlock a 193 unit. But i've heard most SEAT units are 192 units?

Anyway, Has anyone here managed to get this done?

Kind regards everyone

David

Cheers Oldoiler,

Forgive me for this potentially idiotic question, but are you implying that it is actually possible to get the 510 firmware onto an E system?

Hope the front end looks good!

I've been looking at the Navpoint solution too, but I just feel like the lack of audible alerts just makes it a bit weak... But nevertheless I suppose it is better than nothing.

I've just popped on my 16inch Winter wheels and tyres, so i'm depressed at the lack of impressiveness from the wheel area!! By the way everyone I know it's too early for the winter tyres really, but the other set are on the legal limit and I thought this was the cheaper of the solutions.

Regarding the RNS E I have not had the balls to try the firmware set up thats talked about on the my gt.com web site !!!
A the modification to the front end was a OS knock at < 15mph that costs 3.4 k ?@!?! both rads and bonnet us along with the OS light assy. [ paint alone cost £540.00] and labour was around £880.00

I'm a bit confused here, the rns510 and the rns-e are two completely different units. When you say locked, do you mean that the disc is locked in the unit and carnt be ejected, if this is the case then this can easily be sorted... Cheers mat

Hi mate

By locked I mean unable to add video in motion in particular.
The reason behind this is because ideally I wanted to add a touch screen overlay to the rnse and connect a car pc behind it. I have read multiple threads and articles explaining how to hack the rnse and allow vim; however the process isn't valid on the new versions of the unit. I.e. the Seat edition.
Slightly off on a tangent; In terms of getting a reverse camera to work I believe it can be done without any hacks per say, just by making the rnse think it is in a Lamborghini and swapping the parking module. But obviously this doesn't help any of us!
As for the two units being completely different, that's what threw me with that article. I wasnt sure if it was trying to get the 510 firmware on the e. but I cannot see if that is the case. So sadly for now my rnse remains... A rnse!! :-D
