I know this isn't really the right section but I would like to say hello and also thank you to Iain of Finer Details and also the Admin team for both being happy for me to post here and to help answer questions.

As a professional detailer I would like to hope I can help Iain promote detailing, however I am not here to try and push my business (I'm not a sponsor of this great site), rather I'd like to help contribute.

I will post some pics of cars I have worked on recently, however only if asked, though in all honesty I don't think other than the makes/models you will see a great difference between mine and Iain's, the only big difference is detailing is my only job and Iain will be soon (I hope :) )

Thanks for reading this, and here's to dry sunny days :)

Gary

Hi Gary, long trip over from DW! And Iain, Norwich doesn't count as south, its still a million miles from nowhere!

Many thanks everyone for a warm welcome

Reg, don't worry Norwich is a little off the beaten path but so was Lyon in France when I was over there last month doing a car.

Its just i my head I think, whenever I am on the last bit of road before Snetterton, I keep thinking 'just after this roundabout, ok then next roundabout' and so on - the A11 seems to go on forever!

Lyon is indeed a long way to go! Says everything about your reputation though I think ;)

Welcome the the forum Gary, hope you are able to offer plenty of advice like Iain does and show off some of your work on here if the rules permit.
:)

Many thanks :)

Did you see the Ibiza on page 3??

And yes I hope I can help, like Iain of Finer Details I am only too willing to help answer questions and give advise where possible.

Good man.
You have some nice cars and good examples of your work on your site.
The Ibiza was nearly as shiny as my Leon in my sig after a visit to FD :p
look forward to your advice
Dave

No i've just seen the ibiza .... that's stunning! If I thought that platinum grey was capable of such a finish i might consider getting it done professionally but i'm just not convinced that it will get better than it currently is. Had a good long chat with Iain from FD and Rich from polished bliss at Trax earlier this year and none of the platinum grey cars stood out as being markedly better than the others despite the wide range of techniques / products used.

I agree Platinum grey isn't the ideal colour for that mind blowing look, however its a lot better then some, however it really comes down to what you compare it too, but you are also right getting it to look markedly better than the next PG one is hard.

I think I have a PG one booked for the end of Dec, I'll do my best to get good pics (if finished in daylight) to show what I can do, but saying that I don't think my work could be any better than Iain's

Guys

think it might be best we are upfront with you here. As Detailers who talk and share info with one another gary will bring some excellent support and help to continue the growth and services offered to SCN and the detailing knowledge.

Gary provides an excellent level of service, and would would one of the very few I would personally recommend ;)

OK, thats enough 'love vibes' stuff, get buffing :D

Iain

^ Many thanks for that Iain :)

Yes we do talk and discuss new matters, products and results and we are also working on creating a small elite list of people who we all trust to do the best job possible, and would be willing to stake our reputations on.

Iain was my first choice, that is how much I respect and admire his work.

Oh and never enough of the love vibes, just start up a polisher and i'm in love :p
