Ok
Last night the metal connecting the key to the remote decided to snap off with no real force

Today my dad went to a small Seat dealer and they said a whole new key with reprogramming would cost £250 ish
I think that is a JOKE!!!

The remote is fine but its just the metal has broken which you can seen in the picture

So my question is Can you just get a new metal connecter thing or will i have to get the whole metal part replaced including the key being cut?

Broken key

Hi All
I can recommend ebay, see http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Seat-flip...cessories_Safety_Security&hash=item4d0932b570

Think of the purchase as the source of a key blank only. There is no electronics inside however it does disassemble and the key part is transferable. I keep mine as a spare for when the key inevitably breaks.

Your good fob/bad key can accept the new donor metalwork.

I got a local Timsons to reluctantly cut the key.

I've also heard of successful warrantee claims. Is you steering lock a bit tight?

when pressing the button to open the key, hold your palm in front of the key to relieve the shock ,lessening the chance of the key breaking at its weakest point
