help me please!!

i have a problem with my tdi 110 sport or should i say i have problems getting parts

everytime i go to a place to get a part they say "yes weve got it" then when the part arrives it ends up being for the wrong car.

this includes seat dealer, and a small motor factors

eurocarparts said to me that they allways have probs with seat parts

since ive had my car ive ordered back discs a new airbag and a fuel filter and each time it arrives it appears to be the wrong part

any ideas why this is??

do any of u lot have problems getting parts

May seem like a stupid question but the VAG group share a lot of parts.

I got a inspection plug for my Leon from a Seat dealer and it has a VW stamp on it. Golf / A3 share a lot of Leon parts from what i understand.

my maf sensor has an audi badge on it

still wouldnt explain why i would be given the wrong part though

Give them the vin number that is stamped on YOUR CAR and not the service book/car reg.The parts computer is only as good as the operator!!!

can't say i've had issues either.
I wonder if you have a grey import, or the VIN is difficult to read and your accidentally giving incorrect info, other than that can you not take to a dealership let them read VIN order part and see what happens.

Or maybe it's not the car it appears to be. If it's a ringer, the vin could belong to a completely different model......

yes good point viking!

but eitherway, euro car parts you can just choose the model so TDI Sport 110, then you choose the engine code so you cant really get it wrong unless you choose the wrong code.

i doubt its a ringer as the car was hpi checked by myself online before i bought it and it was also hpi checked by the AA when it was AA inspected

HPI only shows data if the car is repaired by insurence companies. If there's no insurence payout, then nothing shows up on the check.

It's entirely possible that 2 cars could be stitched, and the vin could be from a 1.4 ltr petrol car, but the new motor has running gear, engine, and trim etc from a 1.9 TDI. And HPI may not show anything untoward. I hope not, but it's possible.

Check the vin at the dealers. Just ask them to input it into their system and tell you what detals they show ( a print off would be good). There's (at least) 2 vin plates on your car. Make sure they match each other, and after that you might want to cross reference the dealers info against engine numbers / codes etc.

Of course, Pedro / Manuel etc. might just've had a bad day when they put yours together and mixed things up a bit from the norm.

i know 1 vin plate is at the top left of the engine bay. where is the other 1?

I'd be guessing...

Possibly under the carpet near one of the front doors (stamped into the bodywork), or in the boot near the spare wheel well, or on the front cross member near the top of the radiator. All just guesses mind you. Look for signs that it's been welded and painted round the sides etc.

theres no signs of that anywhere, welding and painting that is. ill go and have a quick check to see if i can see then 2nd vim number

just been out to the car

theres 1 like i said at the top left of the engine bay but thats all i could find

checked the spare wheel bay and all there is is a sticker from the dealer that originally had the car

i wonder if they would have the cars id on record and i could check it with them

the cars also passed its last 2 mot's

ordered an oil filter today and it was the right 1 that came so thats a start

the second is normally located just under the tax disc.
as you sit in driver seat, look in left hand corner of dash board on the top. can normally see from outside through window.

i also agree with doing post #13 by viking.
take it to a dealership and ask them to confirm model etc
