Hi first of all i'm new to this forums so hello.

I'm very close to buying this;

2004 Ibiza 1.8 T FR 20V 148BHP. It's on for £1885

It's done 80k, loads of service history and other history, it's clearly been looked after.

Went to see it today and it looks as good in the flesh as the photos made it out to be, i've got a test drive tomorrow for it. What would one need to be paying most attention to on an Ibiza of this age and millage?

Any help will be most grateful.

Thank you.

I'd be listening for squeaks or knocks from the suspension which may indicate bushes/drop links/top mounts gone, common problems. Other than that, that serving has been carried out to intervals, that the water pump and timing belt have been changed when they should (4years/60k whichever comes first is what I work to). Watch for smoke, hesitancy or jerkiness when under boost which could mean boost leak etc. The engine itself is generally very hardy if serviced correctly. It's the ancillaries like standard hoses that can perish etc that would let it down if anything.
