Hi all...i would really appreciate any help or guidance as i am struggling to find whats going;

I have a 2007 leon fr tdi 170 with a miltek exhaust, miltek dpf delete and darkside developments egr delete. It also has a md 550 hybrid turbo and is currently running 27 psi. It was mapped by a reputable company prior to me purchasing it.*

Last week i put it on a dyno and it only made 178 bhp which was dissapointing. The tuner has checked the map which he said is a good map but didnt understand why it was not making over 200bhp. He uploaded one of his maps that he put on a leon 170 that made 209 bhp with stock exhaust. However my car still remained less than 180 bhp. Tuner has said somethings wrong but doesnt know what.

cany anyone help or advise please
 
Checked the turbo.. no play in the shaft..checked for leaks and dont think it has any.. tuner said map was good just something else is wrong. But dont know what else it could be
 
To be fair to him he dont specialise in vags.. no fault codes come up and that might be due to the map. Tuner was quite straight forward in that he dont know what it could be. Just strange why it wont make the power with them mods
 
Hes obviously not mapping it then and just uploading a map file that he has. Was he even loggin the car with a tool like VCDS, either on a Dyno or on the road? Logging should pretty much tell you what the issue is.


Take it to someone that knows how to map these engines
 
I am based in the west midlands.. my boost gauge reads 27 psi up untill around 4k where it starts dropping down so dont think its a boost leak .. just baffled as to what it can be..
 
I'd say get in touch with Ktune (he's on Facebook) he's a pd170 guru I heard according to a close friend of mine. Very helpful too.

He is however based in Barnsley, so a fair trek x
 
Tbh the way this problems making me feel i dont mind travelling as long as it gets sorted/ hoping its something small/ silly
 
This is quite strange! I've never heard of anything like this before.

Don't have a clue as to what could be causing it? Dodgey ECU by chance?

I'll watch this thread to see what the cause was! Interesting stuff! Thought about going to darkside developments for it? They work with these engines all the time!
 
Yes its very strange. Some have said that the miltek might be causing the power loss..? I think it will have to be a visit to someone who deals with these engines.. was trying to find someone in the midlands.. problem is to eliminate the ecu i would need to get another one and reprogramne it for my car which could be costly if it does not solve it
 
I doubt it will be the Miltek system causing the 'throttling' of the power. On my Leon 170 CR I've got full Miltek as well, got the DPF delete pipe just before it came out so got the lead user discount, but when they put it in they only put one rather than two of the sensors in because of something to do with power. Got Miltek cat back as well. Running Revo Stage 2 and it's been dynoed at 221 bhp

Sorry if it sounds stupid but what do you mean by log? In terms of the 2 sensors what are the 2 sensors and is it best to take one out?
 
After reading i came across people having problems with the diaphram on the plastic actuator for the intake manifold flaps. I wonder if this could be my problem? Is there anyway to check if this is damaged? Also to replace the plastic actuator does the whole intake manifold need to be removed? Any ideas people?
