I set out today with the aim of replacing the discs and pads all round on my lcr but only managed to get the rears done. I fell down on the fronts cos as try as much as I could I couldn't get the bolts off which hold the brembo calliper on. I was using a socket wrench but couldn't get it to budge.

Has anyone got any tips on how to get them off?

Haven't really got any specialist tools but find it a pain cos I don't really wanna pay someone to do it for me when it's only getting the bolts off that's stoppin me doing it myself.

when I did mine I tried with a socket set that had a ratchet on and ruined it... had to go any buy a solid bar and was pretty much standing on it by the time the bolts cracked loose..... they do take a fair bit of force....

Are you talking about the allen bolts on the front of the calipers or the carriers at the back? the carrier bolts are kin tight and require a breaker bar and a strong arm! the allen bolts are tight i managed them with a large ratchet.

Ha, I like the tin of spinach idea. Haven't got the strength to pop it out of the can tho!

I tried a bit of wd40 but didn't help. I'm only jacking the car up so will I be able to get at the bolts with a breaker bar or impact wrench? Would be a lot easier if I could get under the car but unfortunately I dont have my own pit or car lift!!

get it as hi as you can and pull like fook ;) should be able to get breaker bar in somwhere to loosen it off

I did mine when it was on axle stands, the drivers side is easy coz you can just put your foot on the bar and pressure it off, but passenger side was more difficult as you have to pull the bar upwards...

if you turn the wheel full lock it might make it easier to get an impact driver on it?

just keep trying mate!
