Hi all,

Wondering if you could help.

Cupra formentor 2026

I scraped the passenger rear side of the car. I was wondering if the paint touch up pens would be able to fill in or any other ideas I can use at home?

Much appreciated 🙂

I think that using a touch up pen to repair that size of scrape it would be noticeable after the repair. With a highly reflective dark paint colour it would be pretty much impossible to get a factory finish to the repair using a paint touch up pen, even if the colour is a 100% accurate match. That would play havoc with my car OCD!

With a brand new 2026 car, I don’t think I’d be attempting a home repair on what looks to be a 3” - 4” scrape; I’d be getting some quotes for a SMART repair, and a couple from a body shop too and depending on how much you’re quoted you could then decide which one to go with.

That’s just my opinion though.

Personally, I'd say you've got nothing to lose by trying a bit of touch up paint (other than about ÂŁ5.99!). @SRGTD is quite right that it will probably be noticeable, but if you're not happy with the outcome, you can still get some quotes from a repair shop or two, can't you?

If the worst comes to the worst, you've still got a bit of touch up paint if you need it in the future!

The best colour match I've ever had with touch-up paint was from this company on Ebay (quite recently) - https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?ssPageName=&_ssn=autosounds_direct
I don't say that they'd be able to supply your colour, or that you'll be happy with the match, but the match for my previous car was spot on, so I'll use them a second time, if necessary.

Yes that is true, I just want it not so noticeable. Thanks for the advice 🙏🏽
