A couple of hours ago my car has started squealing when idle and everytime my foot is off the gas pedal. The sound is coming from the passenger side in the engine bay and I'm not too sure what it is.

Does anyone think they know what it could be? I'm kind of scared too drive it now until its sorted.

Thanks in advance (Leon FR TFSI)

You can confirm or eliminate a slipping auxiliary belt as the cause by spraying a fine mist of water (from one if those plant spray bottles) onto the running side of the belt while the car is idling. If the squealing noise dissppears you have a slipping/worn belt.

The noise is back now so need to get it checked. Stupid question but which one is the auxilarry belt?

The only belt you can see in your engine bay. Left hand side and drives your aircon/alternator and is driven from crankshaft pulley. If you take your right wheel trim out you can see it running and it's very easy to replace it.
