Hi all,

I am stuck on my holiday, cause my car won't charge the battery when driving.

It started by the battery indicator blinking while driving, and soon I had to pull over the car at the battery died.

Got towed to a workshop - they charged the battery. After driving about an hour the same thing happened.

Got towed to a second workshop - they cleaned a faulty ground wire.

Drove about an hour again and the same thing happened. Was towed back to the shop.

They now replaced the battery. Same thing happened again.

The workshop says the alternator charges fine, but it must not be charging fine when more demands to electricity is required.

You guys have any idea?

Cheers.

Surely they can load test the alternator by reving the car, sticking the heated windscreen, aircon, radio, etc on. Then see how much it's providing to the battery. If it's not charging fine when more demands are required I would say the alternator is weak and needs replacing. It should be fit to charge while everything in the car is running.
