My 1.6 Leon Stylance is due for its 80k service in about 100 miles, and I wanted to get it serviced by SEAT as I have always done so and don't want to ruin the record. But the quote for a Medium service they gave me was £269, and £349 for a full service, and that to me seems very high, am I right? or is that how much they should be?

Sounds about right from the "stealers" overcharged hourly rates for oil changes and extra charges for top up...your much better off going to a VAG specialist such as Andy@awesome or specialist near yourself. you would save alot of money this way and also getting he book stamped aswell.

Do you think its worth paying the extra for a SEAT stamp or not? because I am looking to sell my car soon

If you go to trade it it in dosen't matter to them if you have a dealers stamp or not.
I can olny go buy what has happened to me when changing a cars, all ways been asked if it has a full service but never made any comment on who done it.
Traded in my mk5 ibiza with first service done by an independant garage(10.000 miles) 11 months old using seat parts and vat reg, I only done this to keep the warranty, when asked if first sevice had been done the sales man just looked at the stamp and said fine.
(This was after the p/x price had beed agread)

Do you think a SEAT stamp is worth the extra money?? I don't think a independent garages stamp will harm anything, my last service was done by my local mechanic who I've used for years he's VAT registered and stamped my book at half the price, job done.

Well If it was a full service from us then it is only £117 inc VAT at the moment! This includes the oil and filter, air filter and spark plugs, vehicle inspection etc. The only extra's i would say at that mileage would be brake fluid, which we do at £49 inc VAT.

The only other thing i can think as an extra is cambelt. Have you had this done yet?

The cambelt on my 07 cupra would need doing in March next year, how much would this be inc water pump?

Okay now its a different story, I rang the second closest SEAT dealer to me and they told me £199 for a FULL service including cambelt change, then I rang kwik fit and they said £170 but that didn't include the cambelt, so I am thinking to book it in with SEAT for tomorrow, is that fair enough?

Right, got the car back form SEAT, and the service is done. They told me a few things that require my attension:

Brake fluid= £59
AC requires service= £59
Coolant change due= £59

I thought all that would be covered in the service, but guess not, does anyone know if I could do any of those myself, or get them done any cheaper?

Air conditioning service? Why would it need servicing, if it don't smell and it runs cold then that should be ok. Brake fluid change is a bit dear should be £40 - 50, not sure about coolant on the odd occasion it's been done I've done that myself. What did you get done for £199?

The AC does smell, but does turn things cold

OP you could try simply running a cleaner through it first before forking out £60 - my air con used to stink but I ran a cleaner through it at the weekend and it's all lemony fresh now!! :)
