Order now from the merchandise store
Did some reading up and the say there is two different types. There is some that use DC power and others that use AC (apparently this will minimize flicker on the lights).
Have ordered the AC ones today so i will fit them an see if they any good. Thought best buy some side lights as well as may look little odd otherwise
I've had the 6000K kit on mine for 3 years now - passed 2 MOTs and failed 1 with them fitted (I swapped the bulbs for the originals and it passed, so I'll just swap them prior to MOT )
Anyway, if they are aftermarket fitted then yes they are deemed as illegal but think you would be very unlucky to be pulled for them on the road.
Loads of info about them on here, search under HIDs
Surely they can't tell the difference between the factory fitted and after market if you were just driving past. If you fit and align them properly then i would imagine it will be fine
chances are almost all factory fit HIDs will use a projector lens not a standard halogen reflector style light looking into changing mine for the projector lenses...good how to by Phillc have a search
the MOT has changed from the 1st of may and if your car did not come with the HID kit standard then it will not pass as the lenses in the ones fitted with them standard are different to those that were not this is why they fail according to a MOT technician
