HID conversion kits

Hi, i decided i wanted a HID conversion kit for my car. I was at my local stealer and they were advertising a kit for £300 fully fitted. It was a autotronics xtreme kit. I asked how much the kit was without fitting and was told £200. I thought it would be a decent set if coming from an official dealer. However when i got home checking on their website i can get the kit for £91.74 http://www.autotronicsuk.com/lighting-/xenon-hid-car-kits/h7-xenon-hid-canbus-ballast-55w-conversion-kit-p-577.html(as far as i'm aware its this kit as it looks the same and is the most expensive one they do!). As you can imagine I was quite frustrated! So i'm returning the kit for a refund.

The kit itself seemed quite decent all fittings and fixtures seemed reasonable. Just wanted to check on peoples opinions of conversion kits as i have also seen these: http://www.hids4u.co.uk/h7-55w-pro-max-hid-xenon-conversion-kit-pr-63.html

Any suggestions? Got an MOT coming up on the 25th and one headlight has gone already so thought i would do this now! Not to fused about paying a bit more if its worth it!

Thanks

Search would lead you to the conclusion that it's suspected all kits roll out of the same factory and there is no difference, get a cheap one. Lots of threads.

Right ok, its just that ive read that cheap kits have made people fail their MOT as the light "spread" wasnt correct! So wanted to make sure first!

Spread won't be affected by the HID kit, that's all the reflectors in the light unit.

All the HID kit might effect, if anything, would be the brightness and/or reliability.
