u drill the black plastic, or take it off.
i took the black plastic bit off 10 months ago, and its still water tight, so condensation or anything.

If you get the kit from mydepots.com then the wiring comes with a built in rubber grommet, meaning that once you drill a hole in your plastic headlight cover, the wiring runs through the hole and the rubber grommet plugs the hole. Superb bit of kit for the money.

My student loan came through today :funk: so might treat the Polo to the HID's, just need to check how accessible the stupid angel eye headlights are.

Total argree with Mig, HID`S are way to go. That remines me........ must get some as its hard work driving with candles............With dirty headlamps and fast twisty roads have a couple of :-o moments lately........

cheers Czechboy. I think the mydepot route is definitely the way to go! Just gotta wait till the end of the month... which is when It'll start brightening up again..... dammit lol!

For GTI lights you'd get them from Mydepots as well, but instead of H4, you would need the H1 fitment. I checked Ebay last night and there are a lot of people selling them on there pretty cheap these days so can probably get them from there as well. The kit looks exacly like the one I got. Its just that when I went to but them for the valver a year ago, the cheapest you could get them on Ebay was £120, now they seem to sell them for £50,lol.

Last thing to check if you have H4 bulbs is if you require bi-xenon (high and low beam built into one bulb) or if your headlamp uses two bulbs (one for low, and the other [or both]) for high beam). The Bi-xenon bulbs tend to cost about £20 more.

I nearly died with someone dazzling me with HIDs yesterday. Well, I could have hit the kurb. They seemed poorly fitted kit to a modified Mk3 Astra.

So PLEASE get them properly alligned when you have them fitted!

Trust me, once you will have the HIDs installed and aligned properly

Personally I got them professionally aligned

I did mention it twice but gonna say again, DO get them aligned people. You will see better and also you will stop people like Roelich driving into curbs :drive1:(and reduce the likelihood of police pulling you over)

:)

One of my headlights is knackered and both have been replaced with normal poverty spec lamps. For HID's I do think it'll be worth keeping the h4 fitment ones instead of GTi as you can get the bixenon's. Well, I will be anyway!!
