Hello All,

Apologies for posting the same thing that i has probably been posted many times before. I have spent the last hour reading posts on here about HID but a lot are out of date.

I am looking for a recommendation on which ebay seller to buy from and which is the best kit to go for. I found a really good post (http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=149681&highlight=hid+conversion) but the links are out of date for Fleabay. So a few ppl that have all had good experience from a particular seller / kit would be fantastic to know.

Also one of my mates has suggested that certain lenses will create too much glare and make the HID conversion dangerous. Is this true / something to worry about with the LCR??

Cheers

Alex.

Hi, i recomend diane shop on ebay. very easy to fit and a great kit. had no problems and i have fitted around 20 kits to customers cars and our own.

the glare isnt a problem never had a problem with mine,. i have tested them with the MOT headlight beam setter at work and the pattern is spot on with no glare. also you can tell when you just park upto a garage or a wall and can see the pattern nice and clean with no glare. just a straight line with a kick off.

6000k is best to go for any more will be too blue , 6000 is very ice white and almost bluely just right, anymore would be blue.

Thanks for the info guys. Had a look but I'm being thick. Which ones would I need. Are they h7. A link to the correct auction would be good. Also they seem quite cheap. Hope it's not a case of you get what you pay for?

If you're worried about glare mate, go for the H7R !!! they are the new style HID bulbs which have an anti-glare blockout within the bulb... so not to attract unwanted attention...
type that into ebay !! HID H7R Kit ... it should come up. also get ultra slim ballasts!! instead of the standard bigish ones!!

I have just fitted a 8000k set to my leon. I believe my set are made by Ultra Virtual Daylight. I have a 15 month no quibble warranty with it from the date of purchase but they do have to be fitted by a professional to have this warranty. They have just got the new slim line ballasts which are great as you wont need to fit them into the bumper.

They look great and so far i havent had any trouble with the police (touch wood).

This is where I have bought 5 sets from so far:

MYDEPOTS

They are a little more expensive that the eBay option, but the only thing that I had a problem with was that 1 set came with the wrong bulb type. Once they had verified they were incorrect they sent me the right bulbs, and I didn't have to sent the old ones back...which was nice!
I've had mine in for over 18 months with no failures of any kind (runs to nearest tree...)

A lot of people have used this place on eBay:

Diane-Shop

Mostly positive reviews with the occasional problem, but from what I've read it's all been resolved quickly and efficiently.

Personally I'm running 5000K for dipped bean, and 4300K for high beam. I have tried 6000K, but they were too blue for my liking. the 4300K are almost pure white, which is ideal for main beam, and the 5000K are a good trade off between white / blue.

Hope that helps...

I've got 8000k HID's at the moment and taking them off until I can get some 4300k-6000k - 8000k are too blue and don't seem to give off any more light than standard :(

Guys

1 questions - LCR Projector or Reflector. I want to place an order but i cant go outside and check my lights as tied to my desk in work....

Or are they not all the same??

Thanks for the help guys. I have taken the plunge and ordered the H7R AntiGlare pack from HIDS4U.co.uk - Good discount code saved myself 30 quid. Just gotta figure out how to fit them now.

Im pretty sure you dont need the reflector ones, i asked this question a while ago, and the leon lights have the metal cap in the way of the bulb to stop the forward glare anyways.
