Done 166k miles but had to scrap it, funny enough because chassis was too rusty. Engine spot on and still passed mot smoke test.

Bought the car because previous owner had heavy smoke and no performance problems and was sick to the teeth hauling it from one garage to spending ££££s on MAFs, fuel pump and numerous sensors. Problem turned out to be a vacuum pipe costing £1.30!

These engines are like tanks.

I covered 80k in 3 years from new in my 03 Ibiza PD130, sold it early 2006. 'Twas remapped from new as well.

Bought the Passat PD130 on 90k miles last year, now on about 130k.

The highest mileage driver on here I'm sure is Tornado Red, from the US.
According to his sig, he's done over 220,000 miles in his Golf TDI since July 2003
So I think he wins hands down !

128,000 miles in 3 years, on my 04 plate TDI Leon Curpa, ex-company car. Full main dealer service and no major problems - until now that is (see Poorly TDI thread)

we look after a fleet of Alhambra taxi's with some pretty high mileages

oldest is an 03 plate on 265k newest is a 54 plate with 230k

we also had a T plate 90 bhp Alhambra years ago that covered 550k

my dad had an audi 80 tdi with 400k+ on it and someone drove into him and wrote it off, hes now got a octavia tdi with around 200k on the clock.... look after them and theyll keep on goin........

Car in my signature has just turned 157,000 miles... I bought in with 103,000, 2 & half years ago. Remapped it at 108,000. Turbo blew around 120,000 - Allard work done, with new turbo. Head replaced around 125,000 due to a crack in the 2nd pot. Since then the engine's been solid - main problems have been with getting the Porsche brakes and wheels on - since then it eats CV joints and driveshafts, but it's all worth it! ;o)

There are lots of TDIs in the US and Canada that have more miles than my Golf. I know of a 1999.5 Golf TDI with well over 400k miles -- I may be seeing him on June 30th at a get-together near Los Angeles, and if so I'll get some pics.

My Golf is my work car, that's why I drive 200-250 miles every weekday.

If a derv is welll looked after then it will last for a very very long time. Derv engines are much stronger than petrol so can take some real punishment.

I would love to punish mine but the current performance issue which seems to be unsolvable means there is no point as its about as fast as a milk float (well not that slow really):p

I believe that to a degree however there do seem to be plenty of owners with problems with even low mileage cars and mine has done 95k now 04/04 regd leon cupra tdi
