High pitched noise around climate control panel

Hi Guys,

I made a 3 hour run to Newbury in my K1 on Monday and towards the end of the journey, I noticed a high pitched noise inside the car which seemed to be coming from around climate control panel/media centre. I'm sure that I've not heard it before.

At first I thought that it might be the CC fan but I switched off the unit and the noise remained. I don't think it's the cooling fan either because it doesn't seem to be coming from the engine bay but I could be wrong. It was apparent again yesterday, once more towards the end of my return journey.

Can anyone shed any light?

I had this problem also and couldn't work out what it was.

Eventually worked out that although the air vents around the centre console were closed, they must have a very small opening still which allows a small stream of air through, the air coming through this small space is probably the high pitched noise that you are hearing.

However, I suspect that the noise I am hearing is coming from elsewhere as my air vents are completely open.
