I can hear a slight hiss when accelerating with my window down is this normal or should there be no noise at all? I just wondered if it just normal turbo noise or a boost leak somewhere?
I think of getting a remap and want to make sure everything is ok first.

Hmm, I'm sure the resident experts will be along shortly but it may just be the turbo spooling, how loud is it? Surely if its a boost leak there will be a little loss of power and more smoke than normal?

You can only hear it with the window down and then you have to be on a quite road so it's not loud. I just wondered as my intercooler had some oil residue on the bottom and some of the intercooler hoses has oil residue leeking out too. I was more worried about the intercooler as I don't think there should be oil residue on it. I will take some pics and put it on here.

Well A sign of boost leak is oil residue so there for if u have oil residue u have a leak maybe small but still a leak my intercooler has a small leak on the bottom on the near side but its not causing any problums so it will stay like that till the day it goes pop lol

standard boost pipes will always seep oil through the joints. not necessarily signs of a boost leak. if you dont have any power loss, excessive smoke and can only hear it with the window down, i'd say you were fine!

There is no smoke or power loss so hopefully your right. I suspose after 90,000 miles there will be a bit of oil residue here and there?

I beg to differ if oil has managed to pass through the seals then Air will also pass through doesn't mean there bad leaks or even leaks to worry about but they are leaking slightly but like said unless smoky or lack of power I wouldn't worry my slef
