Hammering: giving it some wellie, WOT, flat out. Are you getting the idea yet M87NER?

m0rk, If you can't think of any occasion in the last 9 years when you've been late for something and have been pushing the car harder than you would normally do in the last few miles leaving you no cool down time your some guy and I'd like to know your secret!

Damoegan, what's your problem. Did you try to fit one and fail so have taken it upon yourself to slate them from that day on.

Mine works, no issues what so ever and at times is very handy. Even when i've not been driving hard i still leave it on the timer for a minute or two just for peice of mind. Never had any turbo issues since i bought the car back in 2003.

Hang on Baz, who said I have a problem? And when did I "slate" them? I just dontthink they are required.

No, I have'nt tryed to fit one to my Ibiza and have no intention to fit one. I have fitted them before to other cars for mates and they have worked perfect.

Point is there realy is no need for them.

Pushing your car harder than you normaly would not result in you needing a a TT. Driving off boost/normaly for the last mile is enough. Moste people would automatically have to drive slower once they get to where they live due to speed limits. That is enough to cool the car down.

Thats just my point of view though

i know the meaning of hamering but surely to get the turbo to that state you would need to be be pushing it with the pedal flat to the floor up to 6k all through the gears.... surely thats not possible unless your on a track,

not saying they dont work but not much use for this type maybe...

Turbos at full chat generate serious amounts of heat and it doesn't take much effort to get them glowing.

What do you mean "this type"?

So they crack the window to find this out yeah?

Believe me, I bet most thieves wouldn't walk past a running car abandoned.

Does that mean your Immo chip is no longer in the key?

m0rk i live in the country mate, some people around here still leave their keys in the ignition.

It's only a window and it would give me the final prod i'd need for getting polycarb ones instead. My car is only used about 5hrs a month if it's lucky and will mainly be for trackdays so leaving it on turbo timer doesn't worry me.

Key is the same as when i bought the car.

leaving a car on the turbo timers isnt an issue as the car is wired in 3 different ways to cut out without the key.

i specifically like the point made that if the cars were meant to have them then they would!
since when has any car had a performance or life prolongin mod done.

everyone changes the turbo exhaust intercooler fuel pump etc etc. so why not add a turbo timer???? if these things were that good why didnt the company do it when they made it???

fit the turbo timer and look after your car! IF YOU CAN GET IT TO WORK.
