Hobins - Preston

Heard off a mate their customer service is good, but I've had nothing but poor customer service.
Had poor levels of customer service/care when I took my car in for DPF repair, and no one has bothered to ring me back following a trip I made mid week.

Think I'll try Bury or Lancaster.

Whenever I've been to Hobins, they've always been great! Suppose it depends on whoo you get to speak to though, every company has at least one bad apple working for them!

Don't get me started on Bury though, they couldn't even be arsed to ring me back when I ordered a badge from them[:@]

Quite a trip out to Oldham from Blackburn ;-). Has anyone dealt with VW or Audi dealership in Blackburn ?
To be honest, I'm not sure if they are a little miffed I didn't purchased a car off them. There were a couple contenders until I found the one with everything I wanted at another dealership.
You'd think they'd want my custom as I'd regard them as my local dealership.. and have a service due in a few months time.

They should make more money from servicing and after-sales than they do from the sale of the car. To punish people for not buying the car off them, seems bad business practice.

Have you by chance put these concerns to the dealer, or are you just telling the forum about it??

Even if their not interested in your custom, maybe put your observations in a letter to the dealer principal or MD. The people behind the service desk won't tell the boss your unhappy.

Its easy to come onto a forum and say you received bad customer service, but personally I make sure someone in charge knows I'm an unhappy customer.

MD is David Hobin and After Sales Manager is called Manni.

Always had fantastic service from all of them there from sales to service. Getcar booked in quickly and even ring me up the day after to see if everything was to my satisfaction after I have got my car back.

I know Oldham is a bit out of the way but you could always come and have your car looked at and then take advantage of some of the great roads over the Pennines round here. DPF repairs are, as I'm sure you've already seen on the forums, a bit of a controversial subject, we have been very successful with resolving DPF issues by using some rather unconvential methods.

No, that doesn't really do the job, in fact, several of the people we've dealt with who've had DPF lights coming on have been those that say they give their cars hell. It seems that these people use lots of throttle at low revs and over-fuel the engine thus putting loads of black smoke (unburnt fuel) through the filter and clogging it up. Therights and wrongs of fitting DPFs is something that I can't comment on but most manufacturers are having more problems than VAG.

We use some rather unconvential methods that SEAT might not approve of and have had quite good results.

So come on, save us all a trip to the dealers when ours comes on and reveal all!

I can't tell you what to do as it still requires coming in to the dealers but it usually stops the light coming on again, don't forget that its in the dealers interest to stop the lights coming on as any work dealers do on DPF problems they don't get paid for as SEAT don't recognize it as a warranty claim and when the average UK dealer is making 0.9% pre-tax net against gross turnover we can't afford to be doing work for nothing. Dealers just have to employ a few old fashioned techniques.

surely your first point of call would be to speak/call/write to the dealer to express your concerns ?
in my own business if i had an unhappy customer i would rather they let me know about it so that we can resolve what has gone wrong and why it has gone wrong.

I drive a Leon with DPF as well and all is good for my car, it has been into Hobin of preston and the service i recieved has never been a problem
