remember this has been done loads of times i.e xr3i into rs turbos and subaru sports into wrx s

i am going to change engine on v5 if i do :)

good luck :p mind you i'm sure the local vehicle inspectorate will ensure it's accurate

just some things to think about

take a road going 1.6s (2003) and buy a rolled (but not Cat regsitered) leon R (2005)

strip the 1.6 and respray it / refit all the immaculate? parts from the rolled car then leave it as the original 2003 1.6 details ?

surely if it was 2005 and bought legit (friend accident etc) you'd register it all as the original R but register new shell VIN ???

if you do it that way its a VIN change to a legit 2005 car details with an inspection at the local DVLA to clear up the paperwork. sorted and worth more too

either way if it is all legit it's worth as much as a 2003 1.6s that's been converted

could you still register it as an o5 now if so wat stuff would i need

could you still register it as an o5 now if so wat stuff would i need

ALL the paperwork for both vehicles to prove it is a legitmate swap and end up with an SVA test i would imagine

In the past used to run the risk as the shell has been previously registered of ending up with a Q plate (kiss of death) mind you that's if there is any Q's left at all now ???

change the Wheelplan/Body Type or the VIN/Chassis/Frame Number of your
vehicle you must contact your nearest DVLA local office to check if your vehicle
will require an inspection

ahh but it might have been done professionally ya never know, not defending by any means mind and still looks iffy at first glance so be wary but don't slate something you have never seen.

personally it sort of stinks to me and even if legit it will never be worth what he's be looking for it anyway (£3600 reserve not met) on top of that the hassle of cleaning up it's history after and in 2/3 years do you think it's gonna be easy to sell on ?

risky but then isn't any used car purchase

I personally would steer well clear, all sounds like a crock of shite, Why risk it, i'd rather spend a few more K and have something which I know the full history of etc. Rather than owned by some numpty who thinks that he can beat the insurers. If someones cheap about insuring a car then usually goes that they'll be cheap about repairs/servicing/general looking after a car.

going from personal experianse i have a few friends who have put turbo motors and v6 motors into corsa's and nova's without declaring it.. all was well till both of them crashed while racing each other..
while they where in hospital recoviring the police siezed the cars and insurance seen what they where hiding.. they got shafted !! BIG STYLE

not worth it IMO

sorry about spelling.. me wearing gloves :)
