I ordered mine from the USA as it is alot cheaper over there, depends how your currency is rolling against the $$$ though. The Euro against USD is often really worth it, but the last time I checked the £ and € are crawling to each other...

Heat reflective tape, heat shield and extra air from lower bumper are nice things to have :) You wont be disappointed having one! As some1 said, it is alittle loudy on WOT but that cant be a bad thing :p

Im sure someone tried ordering one from Regal recently but had problems

Statllers might have one in stock, they fit quite a few of these, there's not that many dealers in the UK tbh.

Cheers mate, was hoping you'd tell me Statllers did them. Will give them a call today - hopefully they open on Saturday's.

...And they were open and I managed to pick up the seemingly last one in the country -

Thank you to Rob for pointing me their way, thank you to invisiblekid for ignoring what I'd originally wrote about wanting eithe ITG or P-Flo and suggesting the Evoms as well as giving his reasons.

It's been a very useful thread on 'intakes' and will hopefully help somebody else in future.

Cheers!!!!

I doubt you'll be disappointed. Glad you managed to source one.

I wanted to get a ITG but found it to expensive and got an Evoms v-flow intake in the end.
It sits between p-flo and ITG pricewise but gives one of the best gains on k04 engines

Yes. But keep MAF reading/accurate MAF housing in mind though.

Some have more turbulent air flow around the MAF sensor which can cause low MAF readings → low fuel flow. There will be only correction afterwards because the car will notice it is running lean and will correct with more fuel.

My opinion is that your always one step behind if thats the case and your car will feel a but luggish on lower-ish revs.

Although not really named specifically... Your welcome :p
Just like you I was searching a decent intake, and with some search on fast S3's and Al and invisiblekid I decided to take the plunge.

Also hope it brings some help in the future :)

Fitted it yet then :snack:

Nope, got back home and couldn't be bothered - not been feeling too well last few days. Think it will be going on tomorrow, just wish I could find a decent tyre place to fit my Michelins!!! There's a place just off Queens rd but I wouldn't even trust 'em with my little ones bike tyres...

Sorry mate, I would edit my post if I could but yes your input with regards to airflow around the MAF housing really did get me thinking. So thank you joostdeblok

Hi guys.

Im looking for a intake at the moment as well.

TBH, im not chasing the biggest power gains as im quite happy with the Revo stage 2 map on my Cupra, so anything over the standard paper filter im running at the moment will be a bonus.

What im really after is maximum induction/turbo chatter noise as its so bloody quiet under the bonnet at the moment, it sounds like a muffled hoover!

To throw a spanner in the works, the K&N Typhoon induction kits (which look remarkably similar to the Evoms kit) are normally around £300 but a company on ebay is doing them for £209 in a sale, with free p+p and, ebay are doing a £10 off car parts deal at the moment as well. So £199 total.

Anyone got an opinion on the K&N then? Cos that seems like a very tempting price...

Another vote for evoms here. I'm sure Al will agree also.

One of, if not the best K04 intake for keeping fuel trims in check.

Good choice by the way OP.

The two fastest UK K04 Leons used Evoms cones, one with a VF3" intake pipe for the GIAC code.

Evoms usually gives the highest air flow certainly gives the best terminals on the 1/4 mile - if thats anything to go by. Sounds magic too.

i have the P-flo on my ko3 and i love it! seeing as ill be going ko4 soon, this thread has been an interesting read!

Nope :). And I believe you know that too Mr H. Any car that has done both Crail and Pod end up with pretty much the same Terminal Speeds and times.

Whats this about you getting an M135i eh?!

I installed p-flo on Wednesday, it is great and love the sound it makes!!! Also added a 125mm ducting through to the bottom of the bumper and added aluminum heat shield around the actual heat shield

Still, i doubt the difference between an evoms and an itg/revo intake will be worth feck all over 1/4 mile. Im smack in the middle of you and owen terminal wise. Theres a fair more factors that would have a bigger impact on terminal speeds. Wind been one.

Canceled the M135i, honestly it did everything, mint chassis, 380hp from a map and 40+mpg on a run. But theres always a but... its pig ugly, i thought after id ordered one it would grow on me, but no, so pulled the plug and i dont regret it either.

B8 S4 Avant - with map, intake, pulleys is in another league to the Cupra. Well on the road anyway. Track would need a fair bit of fettling to be able to peddle around as quick as a Cupra thats properly sorted. Still dunno, ive been changing this car for ages

Oh and still on oe clutch 55k and counting

Haha ace! I'm in the same "what car next" boat. You still on the same number to discuss ideas?!

I went for the PFlo based on the price, it's been in for almost a year and is being replaced at the moment with the stock box filter. The noise was ok at the beginning, but now it's just annoying (it wasn't even the sound I was after)

I really dont understand the noise issues with CAI kits...
i have a Pflow and the only noise it makes, that i can really tell teh difference is the chatter / flutter it makes.

yeah, sure it sucks off a horse in the glove box, but thats only at WOT just bimbling around, or on a steady motorway run, it sounds pretty oem to me.

i think, its in peoples heads more than anything. an induction wont roar like it would on an NA car, and yet they act as if it does.
