how do you adjust coilovers

do you go up the thread or down?been messing around for ages today and would like someone to point me in the right direction as im getting nowhere .
its an fk coilover kit on a 1.8t.
wanting to go lower!

just make sure their SPOTLESS before you adjust!!!!!!!!!

wind them rite to the bottom mate! and as max said clean and lube before you start adjusting and if it gets tight then wind back up and clean and lube the threads and try again
