Don't want to cause any damage, what's the best way to remove the seat badges?

How do you remove the grill?

Thanks, anyone know how to remove rear?

Grill is removed with the two rivet type fasteners at the top - then you need some sort of trim removal tool to unlip the middle clips at the side of it.

finally you need to tilt the top towards you and push the bottom in slightly to release the bottom clips.

Harder to describe than to actually do the job.

Rear badge is part of the handle so I'm guessing the handle needs to come out first.

Yes what Deano said...lol

I used a steel ruler wrapped with masking tape (to protect the paintwork) to release the side clips. I found the hardest part to be getting the plastic rivets out, once they are out it is easy.

Can I ask why you are removing the badges? I am guessing respray...

Cool I recently resprayed mine and found that when putting the badge back into the grill, as it is a carrier there is a good chance of scratching the paint. I found it easier masking the grill with making tape and making good use of a scalpel as for the rear, just mask the boot off. It's an aweful lot easier than trying to remove the handle.

Anyone with pics of badges sprayed/debadged?

Have a candy white ibiza fr, was planning on spraying the chrome around the grill + both badges black, taking the ibiza off and leaving the fr badges as they are.

Tried removing the front grille today, tried getting the rivets off with a screwdriver, one came off the other snapped, ordered some more rivets then going to give it a go. Is there any easier way or a tool to use to get the rivets off?

Also had a look at taking the rear badge off and have no idea, if anyone has done this can they explain step by step how please?

Have you realized that the middle of the rivet needs to be lifted first ?- then the rest of the rivet comes out quiite easily.

I usually lift the middle part with the corner of a stanley knive blade.

The circular bit in the middle?

One came out fine, other is extremely tight in.
