When you put your foot on the clutch the noise should go away

just been out and tried it and your right:clap:cheers

it revs up much quicker now too, much more of a difference to when i fitted a lightened flywheel to my mk1 golf gti

do they drive much different out on the road ? mine wont be on road for a while

I find if you let out the clutch slowly its not loud but let it out quick and its noisy (at idle)

I thought a lighter flywheel would make the car decelerate much quicker but I seem to have no engine braking sometimes! But then it could be my r32 TB i think sometimes it doesnt shut as it should.

:if i come off the throttle approaching a junction, soon as i depress the clutch to grab 1st they drop and rise, very annoying.only started to happen since going r32?

revs mate.

Oic, well no my revs are the same in that kind of situation, but half throttle boosting is annoying for me, if you start to build up boost on half or even full throttle say over 1bar, if u back off just slightly so your still on some boost the car will judder abit, I can tell the TB is opening and closing that little bit but makes the car engine respond so much as its much more air flow vs standard 1.8t tb..

which part of the set up actually makes the noise ?

Flywheel!
The lighter the flywheel the louder it will be until u put the clutch in.

I think mine has helped the car rev up quicker, I guess your running just the alternator from your crank so should all help!

Its not the flywheel that makes the noise its the lesser weight of the flywheel that lets the input shaft chatter which is what you can hear.

if you hear a flywheel rattle its bad news as its falling off. (can happen!)

as siad, rattle is combination of no dual mass to isolate noise and input shaft and release bearings rattling a bit

makes you wonder why the previous generation of cars which came with single mass as std, did'nt rattle like these do. dual mass flywheels added to compensate for a not so well balance engine perhaps?? accounts money saving @ VAG?
