I know of the obvious one underneath the car, but does the standard system have one on the downpipe?

Okay I should of reworded that , is there a cat in the standard downpipe? Or is it a flexi part of the downpipe.

I belive its a flexi. I'll have look at my old 1 thats sitting in garage in a mo.

they have just one cat unit, which is 2 cats together (side by side) after the downpipe.

There is no cat in the downpipe.

Yup, as said, 2 cats side by side after the downpipe on the straigh of the exhaust.
