Just fitted my new samco hoses and gonna put in fresh anti freeze and water but how much does it take? So i can work out the ratio I want. lol

Thanks, Dave

well the ratio you want is 50/50 no matter how much it takes.. although i dont think thats what you meant.

i cant say for sure as its a 16v and not a 1.8t. i would think that 4 litres total should be ok, so thats 2 litres of G12 from a dealer. then mix it 50/50.
i would say your better to mix it before pooring into the system than try to guess how much it will take,

I had a gallon bottle and filled it 50/50 then poured it in and started the engine, stopped it then topped it up and done that till it didn't drop no more lol. I would have said I used 4 to 4 1/2 litres!

I am just swapping my pipe for samco hoses at the moment. The water that came out was a orangey colour. I take it that was antifreeze.

Yep! thats fine, I thought I got it all out pulled another hose off and all went down my leg then taking the old rad in, I forgot to empty it 1st and that went all down my leg lol

I had an antifreeze/mouth incident with my old golf. Not good!

sounds interesting!!:D good job you're not a dog or you'd be dead right about now;) did mine tother week and according to the haynes or the owner manual it was 4ltrs iirc, just need a new coolant bottle now as mine is fooked with orange coloured mix:( and can't bear to look at it!!
